Sinfactor

Roots frozen roots

For the last few years the Finnish five-piece Sinfactor has been making some new and daring moves in the Nordic rock-scene,
an environment that has for sometime remained in a creative standstill. While many other upcoming bands have opted for familiar paths
that others have paved and tread well before them, the Salo natives decided they don’t want their music to sound like hard rock put through a pop filter,
with lame symphonious arrangements or trendy “core” elements. Screw that altogether. Everything had to be organic for them
with a sound that reflects the harsh landscapes of their industrial hometown and the unforgiving winters in the land of the four winds.

Discovering their soul in the pounding grooves of the nineties (and even earlier of course) but with the twists and melodies of the 21st century.
Combining that to the straight ahead traditional rock approach of their song-writing,
they started to come up with tunes that can go from a laid back southern-rock flavor to a face-melting metal riffage,
hence the pseudonym “Northern Power-Groove” was born.

Even though being a bread and butter rock band with a great love for the underground and a tremendous hate for compromise,
the guys have always known how to put some commercial viability to their performance,
which can be seen from the clever art work and the natural outlook of the band.

From early on there has been an idea that everything has to tie in with the music,
and the name and the logo was created to represent our sound and lyrics,
and also to remind us and our audience of our chilly roots (SF=Sinfactor/SuomiFinland).
Plus it has a very cool old-school "Sabbathy” look to it.

The Bad Company.

The rhythm section of the band is held together by the brothers-in-beer Mikko and Antti Tång.
Mikko being the respected veteran of the band by having played a well over 100 gigs in his “former life”
as a member of Finnish metallers Twilight Guardians. His wisdom has saved us from a lot of trouble,
and his less-is-more approach to his instrument has molded our unit to be as tight and straightforward as it is.
Antti is the younger (and more temper) of the two providing us with beats that go from a smooth 4x4 to an all-out thrash in one swift instant.
Though totally different in character (Mikko is very zen, Antti the opposite) the brothers have a communication between their instruments
that a few individuals share and it really shines through in our music. The rhythm section is complemented by Mikko Patrakka,
who comes up with most of the riffs and song ideas for the band along with some of the lyrics. Solely a rhythm player,
Mikko has based his approach to the guitar on song-writing and being as tight with the brothers
as a straight guy possibly can or wants to be.

Sharing the same lineage of musical talent Jukka Tång is the cousin of the brothers and the man behind the inventive lead-guitar work.
Nothing short of a riffmeister himself, Jukkas imaginative twists and sense of melody make sure that the tunes stick to your head like a nail.
The last and definitely not the least is Mika Pääskynen the man with the mic. As a person Mika is one of the nicest and reliable guys you can ever know,
always pushing the extra mile for our collective effort. As a singer he is definitely something else, blessed with a delivery and a commanding presence of a military officer,
but with the needed softness of his wing-flapping namesake (Pääskynen translates to a sparrow in English).
Mika will bring the SF message loud and clear to your face with his broad and appealing vocal range and pronounciation
that many of the Nordic stiff tongues cannot even dream of.

We want to thank all our friends and family both domestic and all around the world!

and pushing this dream further for all of us!
